Where to see metal in Seville: the venues keeping the scene alive

When people think of Seville and live music, a double-kick drum isn't usually the first thing that comes to mind. Big mistake. The Andalusian capital has a small but very loyal metal scene, with venues that have backed heavy music for years and international tours that include it as a regular stop in the south.

Sala Custom: the big house of Seville metal

If an international metal band comes through Seville, chances are it plays Custom. It's the city's reference venue for the genre: a good stage, good sound and a size that brings in mid-level European tours. Its autumn calendar includes names like Myrath, U.D.O. and Soen.

Supra Music Hall

The former Sala Fanatic, now Supra Music Hall, is a mid-size multipurpose venue that regularly books rock and metal — Zenobia play here on 24 October 2026, for example. A good option for established Spanish bands. See Supra Music Hall's calendar.

Malandar: metal in the city centre

Address: C/ Torneo 43, next to San Lorenzo Approx. capacity: 415

Malandar has an advantage industrial-estate venues can't match: you're right in the centre, a short walk from the Alameda. Its programme is varied, but metal has a permanent slot, with bands like Stigia or El Altar del Holocausto (January 2027) — something for every taste, from heavy to post-metal. Sala X and Sala Even: the calle José Díaz axis

Address: C/ José Díaz 7 (Sala X) and C/ José Díaz 5 (Sala Even), La Macarena Approx. capacity: around 300 each

Two small venues, door to door, that are home to Seville's underground.

• Sala X is the rowdier one: punk, grind, death and anything that makes noise. A taste of its line: Gutalax play here on 17 October 2026. Expect mosh pits, sweat and zero distance from the stage. See Sala X's calendar.
• Sala Even leans more towards rock, stoner and melodic heavy metal, with bands like The Vintage Caravan or Debler Eternia. See Sala Even's calendar.

The best part of having them side by side: some nights you can hop from one gig to another without crossing the street.

Other venues worth knowing

• Fun Club (Alameda de Hércules 86): a classic rock club, small (around 250) and full of atmosphere.
• Sala Holländer (C/ Uranio 6): an underground spot for around 200 people with regular metal nights. Perfect for local bands.
• Cartuja Center CITE (Isla de la Cartuja): a large auditorium with up to 3,500 seats. Mostly pop, but it occasionally hosts large-format rock shows.

Tips for going to gigs in Seville

• The heat rules. From June to September, small venues can turn into ovens. Drink water and don't underestimate a packed room in August.
• Plan your way back. Seville's metro has a single line and doesn't pass near most venues. For Custom and Supra, car sharing or a taxi is the most practical option.
• Support local bands. Small-venue shows are cheap and that's where the scene is built. If you like what you hear, buy a T-shirt: it pays for the fuel to the next gig.
